1. Who we are
1.1 SpawnBoost (spawnboost.com) is operated by SpawnBoost (company registration in progress), Hungary, email [email protected], which is also our contact point for authorities and users under the Digital Services Act ("SpawnBoost", "we", "us"). Company details are added here once registration is complete.
1.2 SpawnBoost is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Valve Corporation, Steam, Facepunch Studios or any other game publisher. All game and platform names are trademarks of their respective owners.
2. What SpawnBoost is (and is not)
2.1 SpawnBoost is a rewarded-advertising marketplace for game servers. A person or business that operates a community server for a Supported Game (an "Owner") can publish a promotional campaign (a "Campaign") that offers a reward (a "Reward") to players (each a "Player") who, of their own choice, complete a defined in-game goal (a "Goal") on that server.
2.2 Agent role. When an Owner funds a Campaign, SpawnBoost acts as the Owner's disclosed agent and intermediary: we publish the Campaign, verify Goal completion, and instruct our payment provider to pay Rewards in the name and on behalf of the Owner. The Reward is the Owner's promotional incentive to the Player. SpawnBoost's own service to the Owner is the intermediary service, for which we charge the Platform Fee (section 7).
2.3 SpawnBoost is not: an employer or staffing agency; a work, gig or task platform; a gambling, betting, lottery or sweepstakes service; a bank, payment institution, e-money issuer or crypto-asset service provider; a seller of in-game items or currency; or a service that sells bots, fake players, fake traffic or fake engagement.
2.4 Real players only. Every Reward is for a real person playing a real game session. We do not sell, and Owners may not use SpawnBoost to obtain, automated players, idle/AFK presence, or inflated player counts.
3. Accounts
3.1 Steam sign-in only. You sign in with your Steam account through Steam's official sign-in (OpenID). We never see your Steam password. We receive your SteamID and, through the Steam Web API, your public profile name and avatar. See the Privacy Policy.
3.2 One account per person. Each natural person may hold one SpawnBoost Player account. Owners may hold one Owner account per person or legal entity (an Owner may also be a Player on servers they do not own or operate, subject to section 5.4).
3.3 Age. You must be at least 18 years old to join Campaigns or receive Rewards. Steam sign-in does not prove age; we rely on your declaration, which you confirm before you press Start on a Campaign, and on identity and age verification performed by our payment provider before any payout (section 6.3). If verification shows you were under 18, pending Rewards are cancelled and the Owner's budget is restored.
3.4 You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you think your account or Steam account has been compromised.
4. Owner terms
4.1 Eligibility. You may create Campaigns only for servers that you own or are authorised in writing to operate and that run the SpawnBoost server integration (the "Mod") in unmodified form. You must be 18+ and, if you act for a business, authorised to bind it.
4.2 Publisher rules. You must comply with the rules of the publisher of each Supported Game and of the platform the game runs on (for example the server, hosting and monetisation guidelines in the relevant Game Annex, and the Steam Subscriber Agreement). If a publisher's rules prohibit or restrict rewarded campaigns for its game, that rule wins and the Campaign must not run.
4.3 Honest Goals. Goals must be achievable in normal play, described accurately, and verifiable by the Mod. You must not: (a) create Goals that cannot realistically be completed, or that you intend to prevent Players from completing; (b) change server rules, wipe, ban, kick or otherwise act to defeat Players' progress towards a Goal during a Campaign, except for genuine rule-breaking unrelated to the Campaign (which you must log); (c) join your own Campaigns, or reward yourself, your staff, alt accounts or people paid by you outside SpawnBoost; (d) use Campaigns to display fake or inflated player counts, or combine SpawnBoost with bots, fake clients or "player count" plugins; (e) create Goals that require spending real money, buying in-game items, gambling, watching ads, sharing personal data, or any act that is illegal, harmful, or harassing; (f) target or reward minors.
4.4 Disclosure to your community. Because rewarded Players affect how popular your server looks, you must disclose Campaigns to other players using the wording and places set out in the Game Annex (for example a "Sponsored players via SpawnBoost" line in the server description and on the in-game join message). You remain responsible for your own consumer-facing statements, including any paid perks you sell on your server.
4.5 Server data. Running the Mod sends gameplay telemetry about Players on your server to SpawnBoost. You must accept the Server Owner Data Agreement before going live and must tell players on your server, in the way the Game Annex describes, that the Mod is installed.
4.6 Content. Campaign titles, descriptions and images must be lawful, accurate, suitable for the game's audience, free of third-party IP you have no right to use, and must not promise anything beyond the Reward. We may edit formatting, reject or remove Campaigns (see section 10).
4.7 Business or consumer. If you use SpawnBoost for a business, you confirm that and give us your VAT number. If you are a private individual running a hobby server, you are treated as a consumer and the consumer rights in section 7.6 apply.
5. Player terms
5.1 Free choice. Campaigns are offers. You choose which, if any, to join, when to play and when to stop. There are no shifts, no schedules, no minimum hours, no quotas, no ratings or reliability scores, and no penalties for not joining, not finishing, or leaving a Campaign. Not completing a Goal simply means no Reward for that Goal.
5.2 Rewards are not wages. A Reward is a promotional incentive offered by the Owner for reaching a Goal. It is not salary, wages, a fee for services or payment for work. Joining a Campaign does not create an employment relationship, a worker relationship, a partnership, an agency or any other relationship with SpawnBoost or the Owner. You do not perform work for SpawnBoost and SpawnBoost does not direct or supervise how you play.
5.3 Fair play rules. You must not: (a) use more than one SpawnBoost account, or let anyone else use yours; (b) use alt Steam accounts, family-shared or bought accounts to join Campaigns; (c) use VPNs, proxies or other tools to disguise your location or identity, or to evade caps or bans; (d) use bots, scripts, macros, AFK tools, input automation, cheats, exploits, or any software that plays for you or simulates activity; (e) collude with the Owner, server staff or other Players to fake Goal completion; (f) break the game's or the server's rules, or the game publisher's terms; (g) harass other players or disrupt the server.
5.4 You must not join a Campaign on a server that you own, operate, administer or are paid by.
5.5 Caps. Campaigns may limit how many Rewards one Player can earn (per Campaign, per server, per day). Caps exist to prevent fraud and are shown on the Campaign.
5.6 Verification. Goal completion is measured on the game server by the Mod (for example time actively playing, movement, gathering, building, crafting, combat or chat activity — the exact signals for each game are listed in the Game Annex). Merely being connected is not enough. We may use automated checks to detect fraud; any decision to refuse or claw back a Reward for fraud is reviewed by a human on request (section 6.4).
6. Reward lifecycle
6.1 Pending. When the Mod reports that you reached a Goal, the Reward shows as Pending.
6.2 Approved. After a review period (its length depends on the Owner's risk level and the Player's verification tier; usually a few days) in which automated and, where flagged, manual fraud checks run, the Reward becomes Approved. The Owner's funded budget backs every Pending Reward.
6.3 Payable. An Approved Reward becomes Payable when you have completed payout onboarding with our payment provider (identity and age verification) and the payout threshold of €20 is reached. Payouts are made by Stripe to your Stripe connected account and from there to your bank account, under Stripe's own terms. Where Stripe cannot pay your country, we may offer a digital gift card of equal value, if available and lawful.
6.4 Fraud review. We may hold, reject or reverse a Reward if we reasonably believe it was obtained in breach of section 5.3 or 5.4, by a technical error, or by Owner–Player collusion. We will tell you the reason (unless the law or an ongoing fraud investigation prevents it) and you can ask for a human review within 30 days at [email protected]. We decide within 14 days.
6.5 No stored balance. SpawnBoost does not hold your money and does not offer a wallet, credits, points or balance that can be stored, transferred, traded or cashed out at a later time. The Reward record shown in your dashboard is only a status record of an Owner's promised incentive; the money is held by Stripe until paid. Rewards cannot be transferred to another person, exchanged for in-game items by us, or used to pay for anything on SpawnBoost.
6.6 Clawback. If a Reward that was already paid is later shown to have been obtained by fraud (section 5.3/5.4), you must repay it, and we may set it off against your other Approved Rewards. We will not claw back for ordinary errors made by us or the Owner after payout, except where the law allows recovery of an unjust enrichment.
6.7 Expiry. If you do not complete payout onboarding within 12 months of a Reward becoming Approved, we will remind you at least twice; after that the Reward lapses and the amount is returned to the Owner.
6.8 Taxes. Rewards may be taxable income where you live. You are responsible for your own taxes. We may be required to collect tax information and to report Rewards paid to you to the Hungarian tax authority (NAV), which may share it with other EU tax authorities (DAC7), and we may have to withhold tax where Hungarian law requires.
6.9 Sanctions. We cannot pay Rewards to persons on EU, UN, UK or US sanctions lists, or to residents of countries or regions subject to comprehensive EU sanctions or to EU restrictions applicable to the payout method. A list of excluded countries is in the Reward Terms.
7. Owner payments, fees and refunds
7.1 Funding. Owners fund a Campaign in advance by card or other methods offered at checkout, processed by Stripe. The funded amount = the Reward budget + the Platform Fee + applicable VAT on the Platform Fee.
7.2 Platform Fee. Our fee is 15% of the Rewards for completed Goals plus €0.25 per verified Player (charged once per Player who completes at least one Goal of a Campaign, including multi-Goal Campaigns), minimum €5 per Campaign; minimum Reward budget €25, shown before you pay. VAT is charged on the Platform Fee only, at the applicable rate (Hungarian VAT for Hungarian customers; reverse charge for EU business customers with a valid VAT number; the rate of the customer's EU country via OSS for EU consumers; the applicable treatment for non-EU customers).
7.3 Invoices. We issue an electronic invoice for the Platform Fee and a statement of the Reward amounts paid on the Owner's behalf, available in the Owner dashboard.
7.4 Unspent budget. When a Campaign ends, is cancelled by the Owner, or is removed by us for reasons not caused by the Owner, the unspent Reward budget (minus Rewards Pending or Approved at that time) is refunded to the original payment method within 14 days. The Platform Fee is refunded proportionally to the unspent budget. Payment processing fees that Stripe does not return to us may be deducted, as shown at checkout.
7.5 Removal for breach. If we remove a Campaign because the Owner breached these Terms (for example section 4.3), Rewards already Pending for honest Players are still paid from the budget; the remainder is refunded minus the Platform Fee for the period the Campaign ran and any documented costs caused by the breach.
7.6 Consumer Owners. If you are a consumer, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal from the contract for our service. If you ask us to start the Campaign within that period, you acknowledge that you lose the right of withdrawal once the service has been fully performed, and that if you withdraw earlier you pay for the part already performed (Rewards earned and the proportionate fee). The model withdrawal form is in Annex 1.
7.7 Chargebacks. If an Owner disputes a card payment for a Campaign that ran as described, we may suspend the Owner account and recover the Rewards paid and fees.
8. Mod and server integration
8.1 We grant Owners a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and run the Mod on servers they own or operate, solely to run Campaigns. You must not modify, decompile (except where the law permits), redistribute or tamper with the Mod or its reports. Tampered reports void the Campaign and are a material breach.
8.2 The Mod is built to use only the game's normal server functions and to respect the publisher's server rules. We may update it; outdated versions may stop counting Goals.
9. Our service
9.1 We aim to keep SpawnBoost available but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We do not guarantee any number of Players, retention or results for an Owner.
9.2 We may change these Terms for valid reasons (new law, new games, new features, security). We will give at least 30 days' notice of material changes in the app and when you next sign in. If you do not agree you can close your account before the change applies; Approved Rewards stay payable and unspent budgets are refunded.
10. Moderation, suspension and termination (DSA)
10.1 You can report illegal content or Campaigns that break these Terms through our support page (spawnboost.com/support). We act on reports diligently and tell the reporter what we decided.
10.2 We may refuse, remove or restrict a Campaign, or suspend or close an account, if it breaks these Terms, the law or a publisher's rules, or to prevent fraud. We give a statement of reasons (what we did, why, the facts relied on, whether automated means were used, and how to appeal), unless the law prevents it. You can appeal through our internal complaint system on the support page within 6 months; a human decides.
10.3 You may close your account at any time. Closing does not cancel Approved Rewards (they remain payable under section 6) or Owners' rights to a refund of unspent budget.
11. Liability
11.1 Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for intentional or grossly negligent breach, or any liability that cannot be limited under Hungarian law (Civil Code Section 6:152) or, for consumers, mandatory consumer law.
11.2 Otherwise, for business Owners, our total liability for any claim relating to a Campaign is limited to the Platform Fees paid for that Campaign, and we are not liable for loss of profits, revenue, players or reputation, server delisting, or actions of game publishers or platforms.
11.3 We are not responsible for game servers, game publishers, Steam, Stripe or other third parties, or for an Owner's server or community.
11.4 Owners indemnify SpawnBoost against third-party claims (including from publishers or players) resulting from their breach of section 4.
12. Complaints, disputes, governing law
12.1 Contact [email protected] first; we answer within 15 days (consumer complaints: within the statutory deadline).
12.2 Consumers in Hungary can turn to the conciliation body (békéltető testület) of their county chamber of commerce (for us, the one competent for our registered seat) and to the consumer protection authority. Consumers in other EU countries can contact their national ADR body or the European Consumer Centre network.
12.3 These Terms are governed by Hungarian law. For business users, the courts competent for our registered seat have exclusive jurisdiction. Consumers keep the protection of the mandatory laws of their country of residence and may sue in their home courts.
13. Other
13.1 Language: these Terms are made in English. 13.2 If a clause is invalid, the rest remains in force. 13.3 We may transfer the contract to a successor business with notice. 13.4 Game Annexes form part of these Terms for the games they cover. The first annex (Rust) is published with the final Terms.
Annex 1 — Model withdrawal form (consumers): added with the final Terms.
Annex 2 — Definitions: added with the final Terms.
